BAY VIEW AREA REDCATS VOLUNTEER POLICY
Starting in 2018, the Bay View Area Redcats (BVAR) will be collecting a mandatory Volunteer Deposit (VDep) from each family who participates in BVAR programs/leagues. This deposit has been set at $100 per family (regardless of the number of children "Legal Siblings" per family). Once a family's volunteer hours are completed, the $100 VDep will be refunded via a check from the BVAR. This VDep must be paid prior to your child (children) receiving his/her uniform or equipment.
Each family is expected to volunteer at least 6 hours during each season of participation.
Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to: Concession stand, Field set up, fundraising distribution, season set up, being a 'registered and certified' team coach*, office/season preparation.
Older siblings/cousins of at least 14 years of age are eligible to assist with families in fulfilling mandatory volunteer hours
Hours worked will be maintained by a BVAR administration official. Be sure to check in with a BVAR official when working.
Please be advised: If you sign up for a job and/or time slot and cannot fulfill the duty, it is your responsibility to find a replacement. In the event of an last minute emergency, you must contact a BVAR admin via email to notify. Failure to show up for scheduled duty or failure to find a replacement will forfeit your VDep.
If games are cancelled during your scheduled volunteer hours, for any reason, it is your responsibility to reschedule your hours.
RAIN OUTS DO NOT COUNT TOWARDS YOUR VOLUNTEER TIME.
*'Registered and certified' coaches must be registered thru the BVAR office, undergo background checks and mandatory certification to coach.
MAX of 3 per baseball team
MAX of 4 per football team
MAX of 2 per cheer team
"Helping out during practices" does not count towards volunteer time.
Baseball Volunteer Deposits due to the BVAR office no later than May 1st.
Football Volunteer Deposits due to the BVAR office no later than August 15th.
